When the world's finest football talent gathers to celebrate excellence, the presentation deserves something equally extraordinary.

For the 2026 Ballon d'Or™ ceremony, Louis Vuitton has created two custom-made Trophy Trunks, designed specifically to protect and showcase the men's and women's Ballon d'Or™ trophies. Continuing the House's longstanding relationship with the world's most prestigious sporting events, the latest creations celebrate the connection between sporting achievement, heritage and the art of craftsmanship.

Unveiled for the 70th anniversary of the Ballon d'Or™, the 2026 ceremony took place at London's iconic London Palladium on 26 October, paying tribute to Sir Stanley Matthews, the legendary English footballer who became the inaugural recipient of the award in 1956.

Craftsmanship Behind the Trophy

Made in Louis Vuitton's historic workshops in Asnières-sur-Seine, France, each Trophy Trunk reflects more than 160 years of the Maison's trunk-making heritage.

The designs feature the House's unmistakable Monogram canvas, traditional lozine edges, brass corners and signature clasps. Two foldable front panels are finished with a striking golden 'V' motif, symbolising both Victory and Vuitton, while complementing the golden tones of the trophies themselves.

Inside, black microfibre lining provides a refined protective finish, with the Ballon d'Or™ logo embroidered beneath the lid. Every detail has been considered, bringing together functionality, precision and the distinctive aesthetic of Louis Vuitton.

Where Luxury Meets Sporting Excellence

Louis Vuitton's relationship with sport extends well beyond football. Over the years, the House has created bespoke Trophy Trunks for some of the world's most celebrated competitions, including the FIFA World Cup™, the NBA's Larry O'Brien Trophy, the Rugby World Cup, the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, the Davis Cup, Roland-Garros and the Australian Open.

Its association with the Ballon d'Or™ began in 2023, with the 2026 edition marking the fourth consecutive year of the partnership.

There is a natural connection between the two worlds. The dedication, discipline and technical precision required to reach the highest level of professional sport mirror the meticulous expertise of Louis Vuitton's artisans, whose work brings each trunk to life piece by piece.

More than a means of transporting a trophy, these creations become part of the story surrounding a defining sporting moment.

Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton

For Louis Vuitton, the art of travel has always been central to its identity. Since 1854, the House has built its reputation on creating objects that combine innovation, practicality and timeless elegance.

Through its sporting partnerships, that philosophy continues in a new way, giving some of the world's most significant trophies a home worthy of their achievements.

As the 2026 Ballon d'Or™ celebrates seven decades of football history, Louis Vuitton once again demonstrates that true luxury is found not only in the final creation, but in the craftsmanship, heritage and meaning behind every detail.

Because when victory makes history, it deserves to travel in Louis Vuitton.
