Louis Vuitton Opens Temporary Store on Russell Street in Melbourne
Louis Vuitton’s Collins Street flagship is set for an extensive renovation, with a temporary Russell Street store welcoming clients until 2028.
Louis Vuitton has opened a temporary store at 14–22 Russell Street, Melbourne, while its iconic Collins Street flagship undergoes an extensive renovation.
The flagship at 139 Collins Street has been a landmark address for the House since August 1989. Its transformation will span all floors, introducing the latest expression of Louis Vuitton’s store design and client experience when it reopens in January 2028.
In the meantime, the Russell Street temporary store offers clients a broad selection of the House’s Women’s and Men’s leather goods, ready-to-wear and travel collections, alongside accessories, shoes and an exclusive assortment of Louis Vuitton fragrances.
The offering includes ready-to-wear creations from the new Ski and Cruise collections for women, while the men’s selection features the Spring-Summer 2027 Pre-Collection and the new Denim Brut Men’s Leather Goods.
Among the highlights are the coveted Speedy P9 and pieces from the Mon Monogram collection, which allows clients to personalise their travel pieces with patches, initials and coloured stripes.
The store’s interior brings its own distinctive character to the temporary space. Conceived as a bright, immersive environment, the design draws on a refined resort aesthetic, with vivid tones and straw finishes inspired by the coastline. Raw flooring and columns retain the character of the existing site, balancing the relaxed palette with the building’s original features.
On the exterior, the Louis Vuitton Wanders mesh façade offers subtle glimpses into the store. Animated windows, archival visuals and emblematic trunks further reflect the House’s longstanding connection to travel and creativity.
The Russell Street location will serve as Louis Vuitton’s Melbourne retail destination throughout the Collins Street renovation, giving clients continued access to its collections while the flagship undergoes its transformation.
